“The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker.”
– Helen Keller
Even though BIPOC communities have built the cannabis industry’s foundation, the War on Drugs and systemic racism have disproportionately targeted Black and Brown lives for decades and we continue to see long-lasting economical, mental, and physical consequences. Cannabis legalization and government-led reform efforts are just one aspect of the holistic approach needed to repair these communities. It is now more important than ever before to bring cannabis industry stakeholders together to pave a path for BIPOC communities to have ownership and build wealth within the cannabis industry.
As a local or small cannabis business, oftentimes, support, and donations can feel daunting and inconsequential. However, we believe the synergy created in working together will lead to and inspire national impact. This isn’t about performative allyship. We’re here to truly support our communities, starting at the heart of it all, meaningful localized efforts.
This is about more than recognition and “likes” on social media, and rather about directly changing the course of this industry’s future by acting in solidarity with the marginalized community.
With HiVi Impact, HiVi is bringing the community together, strengthening the bond between cannabis businesses and reform-focused organizations, so that together we can raise awareness and donations to rebuild marginalized communities.
The cannabis community has a duty to repair the wrongs of the War on Drugs, and while it may feel like local efforts are trivial, no effort goes unnoticed. We are here to make the process seamless and bring local efforts into a very integral part of a larger whole. Each contribution makes a meaningful impact to a local organization and each business will become a part of a larger collective of ethical cannabis leaders who can mutually support this anti-racist movement.
HiVi and the local Higher-Ups cohort are responsible for vetting and securing the organization based on mission, leadership, transparency, and validated connection to their community.
If you are a local business or local organization interested in supporting this movement, please contact hello@hivi.life and we will get back to you.
Thank you in advance for your support.
