We asked ourselves, “Who gets pulled in a million directions every day and still comes out the other side shining?” Mothers, obviously. So, we reached out to our favorite Canna Mamas Keira Sumimoto of Cannabis & Parenthood and Bianca Snyder of High Society Mama, to share how they prioritize self-love. Because if anyone knows how to do it all, it’s them.
Keira’s Five Tips:
- Yoga or a low impact workout
- Meditation. Take a break from the chaos and center yourself.
- Food. Know and understand your limits, don’t eat what you don’t like, even if it is your aunt’s special recipe.
- Cannabis. Be it CBD, THC, or a good ratio, take some time for yourself. Get outside for a walk with family members who partake. Those are the best conversations.
- Take care of yourself before you take care of others. During the season of giving, we can often get caught up in the giving. It’s okay to take once in a while, too.
Bianca’s Five Tips:
- Move – Our bodies were built to move and living a stagnant life. Try mixing up your body movements each day.
- Live in Harmony with Nature – Practice daily self-care rituals called Dinacharya which translates to “following the rhythm of the day.” When we are in sync with the natural world around us, everything begins to flow.
- Make a Difference – Altruistic behaviors are found to be associated with improved well-being, health, and longevity. Expanding love beyond our boundaries and into all of humanity, is the true gift.
- Seek Adventure – When we think of self-care most think of relaxing. But, not all self-care needs to be quite so chill. One of the 6 human needs is for happiness is variety!
- Prioritize Yourself – To persevere, we must not sacrifice our own happiness. If we continually put others before our needs and are falling short of goals, then ultimately this is a lose-lose. There must be a win-win to thrive.
